The Beauty Industry...

The cosmetology industry is an exciting, adventurous and creative field full of color, fashion, and diversity. The instructors at the Institute of Cosmetic Arts pride themselves in helping students acquire the knowledge and necessary skills to enter the field of hair design, nail technology, skin care, and education.

This is "A Look Good, Feel Good Business!"

Cosmetologists care for people's hair, skin, and nails.  They are in the business of making people look good and feel good about themselves.  Cosmetology is a growing field with a positive job outlook.

Job Market:  "Positions Available"

There are not enough qualified, professional cosmetologists to meet the demands of salons nationwide.  What does this mean for you?  It means that licensed cosmetologists enjoy "ZERO UNEMPLOYMENT!"  In the 2003 job demand survey, the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences found that salon professionals in South Carolina average between $30,000.00 and $50,000.00 a year including tips.  The Economic Research Institute predicts that by the year 2015, the average salary for a cosmetologist will be $44,729.

How much can you expect to make?  The answer is, it's really up to you!

Placement Services...

The Institute of Cosmetic Arts does not guarantee employment after completing the required hours of the course; however, the school has an excellent placement record for its graduates.  All graduates are encouraged to request our staff to assist them in securing a position in cosmetology or its related fields.  A student bulletin board is kept current with salons in the area requesting stylists or manicurists.  Local salons even set up interviews with our students while the students are still attending school!

Your Future...

The opportunities in the fields of cosmetology are limitless.  Depending upon the individual's skills, self-confidence, attitude, knowledge and creativity, licensed cosmetologists can utilize their new skills in a variety of settings.  Here are just a few opportunities for licensed professionals:
